Fyo Re..Head start, maybe, but chips in cars need to be able to run at well over 100°C.<<<<<<<<

The current mini computers mostly run the engine, but I am not so sure the GPS computers etc. can't be put in a cooler place; and the chips can be slowed down so they run cooler. I would think vibration might be a bigger problem. Either way, with AMD's manufacturing success in flash, they should be able to make chips which will meet demanding situations. The new fuel cells reportedly use quite a bit of silicon, and the new electric motor controllers use a lot. So personally, if AMD needs to, they should be able to find a market outside of CPUs; once the economy rebounds, which I hope will happen tomorrow.
