Dear JDN >Astronomy was relatively well advanced< Kudos to those who helped to develop Astronomy despite the Church bans and barriers. Also as you probably know at that time 4000 to 6000 miles above planet earth (center of the universe)existed a cap above which was heaven. Below the planet was hell. >--medical discoveries made thousands of years ago ie. today is called Alternative Medicine---) Wasn't it really trial and error and accumulated experience. Certainly not science ie. medical science. May God Bless you. Their are thousands of cults and sects, each of which practitioners claim God's exclusivity.
