People wonder what will drive IC use in the coming years? ****************************** Samsung Develops 40-Inch TFT-LCD Monitor for Digital TV August 23, 2001 (SEOUL) -- Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. announced on Aug. 22 that it has developed the world's largest 40-inch TFT-LCD monitor for use as a high-performance digital TV. Samsung's new monitor came four years after it released a 30-inch TFT-LCD monitor in 1997. The electronics giant said the Korean government helped it finance the development of the product in a bid to compete in the huge PDP-led TV market. (Maeil Business Newspaper, Korea)
