On that subject, one noon on National Peoples Radio, an author of a new book about the last week of the Civil war was speaking. Most people ( me included ) think once Lee surrendered that was it. But boy, it was touch and go. The author gives Lee great credit for stopping what very well could have devolved into a gorrilla war that could have gone on for a generaton.
