I think there has always been a market for motivated individuals who "think outside the box".

Well, I see that the guy is a statistician, so probably he could have found other employment in another area. As an environmentalist, I should think he'd have had about as much chance of landing environmental work as a non-believer would have of being a priest. We all know how those enviro-whackos are.

Anytime you reference a persons racial background it could hardly be considered casual and meaningless.

I doubt Mr Lomborg would be offended that I my remark called attention to that fact that he's probably not black.

Now that I find hard to believe.

In context, what I said is no more a slur than saying "break a leg" is a wish for disabling injury. Still, I'm sorry if I offended anyone.

As for the HR folks, I sympathize with them. They're in a real catch 22. They can't hire anyone, no matter how superbly qualified, unless that person is a minority, but the superbly qualified minorities are all snatched up by the high rollers before they get a chance at them. I can't blame them for engaging in some black (pardon the double-entendre) humor.
