Thanks. Phew. CNBC hasn't reported that, and I hadn't checked Briefing again until you posted that.

Cisco Systems (CSCO) 16.76 +0.28: -- Update -- Says orders for first weeks of qtr in line with prior projections; says it is beginning to see signs of stabilization in its business.

Well that should be worth a PE of 90! <ggg>

FWIW, just went back and checked and Chambers said on the CC a few weeks ago that there were signs that the U.S. market was stabilizing.

His comments in a nutshell:

Chambers said there are some signs that the U.S. market is stabilizing, particularly in the enterprise segment, but that the U.S. service provider market and Europe and Asia remain weak. He said a bottom in the U.S. is possible in the next 1-2 quarters, but that European and Asian weakness could cause another leg down in the U.S. market.
