Fact: What's good for the Texas economy is bad for the rest of our economy. Always. And Bush is very-very good for Texas. He has sent a lot of our money to Texas. And he wants to send a lot more. Add Cheney to the problem and you have double trouble. Texas politics is also notorious for being an ole boys club. Bush is playing up the macho military-Chreistian-cowboy myth but it's a fool's illusion. It's a likeable image but it makes wimps out of the rest of the country if we believe it because we're being fleeced and BS'ed by these ole boys. Big-time.

Time to kick Texas's butt. They've already kicked ours.

Texas also has the most lax environmental laws in the country (lotsa pollution is OK), poor public health, lousy education despite Bush's BS boasts, high crime despite the fact they execute mentally retarded people, everyone carries guns, women are mainly objects, blacks and hispanics know their place and it's basically anti-progressive and uneducated outside Austin and a few other pockets. A lot of good qualities but not when you give them too much power over us. Remember the S+L debacle also peaked in Texas. All those banks went belly-up just like our government will if Bush-Cheney have their way. Lotsa greedy ole boys down there who like to fleece you if you give them the chance. White-collar crime and corruption is just a way of life. Ironic for such an otherwise moral Christian state. Bush may even be a nice guy until you let he and his cronies run things. Then they're ugly Americans.
