Dennis -

.... It seems a little simplistic to assume that the explanation can be found solely in the economics of supply and demand....

Looking back at the my last several posts, I can't find anything about supply and demand. Is voluntary mutually beneficial economic exchange really such an obscure concept? Why do you think jobs are created? Does Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny play the bigger role, or is it seasonal? -g-

I remember very well the pressure placed on me not to vote for unionization of an electronics factory way back in 1972, and the anti-union forces won with their threats and bullying tactics, scaring the workers into believing they would lose their jobs if they voted for the union.... To make a long story short, the worker sheeple chickened out because of fear over losing their jobs, but the joke was on them, because management sold the place to a larger company who could not run the factory as well as the previous owners, so they closed down the place and the workers lost their jobs anyway! Ha! So the sad joke was on the passive fearful people who thought that by getting on their knees and pleasing management, they would receive job security in return..... Live and learn I guess.
