What we have here is a life long academic closet liberal, parading around as a conservative in order to get his 2 major life time career appointments, first, as analyst for the US Steel Industry, which then was sold out to Asia, high US Steel technology and all, and with it, asian car imports and all other steel products. Thus the high double intendre of the Forbes article "UNINDICATED ANTAGONIST". Then again to get appointed by Reagaon to the Federal Reserve. As the American Middle Class is destroyed, and as the lower and working classes are unemployed, Greenspan wil have achieved his form of Utopia, a 2 class US society that reduces all but the elites to slaves like the slave classes of asia. This is the only rationale for all his policies over his lifetime that contain the same cogent thread of thought, and maybe its unconsious or subconscious on his part, all the worse then isn't it. Unfortunately his pride goes before the US Fall. Hopefully Washington and Wallstreet policy makers and insiders will see the problem and correct it, hopefully with appointment to the Federal Reserve Board of Governors and Treasury placements that can heal and offset the damage done by Greenspan & Company. This time not just to the US Steel Industry and all the companies and jobs and thus TAXES that are based on it, but the whole US Financial markets, which are half, 50%, of the US GDP that Greenspan has destroyed, and with it, those TAXES.
