I think it's a minor distraction, party-wise. But the guy certainly did himself no favor. Not to mention Chandra.

It is too bad that Connie Chung did not ask something like your excellent suggestion. It might have provoked an honest answer with some genuine emotion. California redistricting is scheduled to be finished and voted on in the state legislature next month. The local polls will determine his fate, but I will not be surprised if the Democrats carve up his district to get rid of him.
