Hi Karen just a quick note to say that Christians are commanded by God to obey all laws whether they be just or not, because there is no earthly power that is not ordained or permitted by God see Romans 13:1 However God's command to share the "gospel" supercedes any earthly "law forbidding it. Read this chapter from acts and see how they dealt with a command to be silent about Christ.

Must run, I'll check in this afternoon

Hi Karen,

If I may interrupt your reading of Acts for a moment, I just want to add that there are lots of ways to be a Christian and not all of us feel the way Greg does. At all.

Back to your reading.

Hi Karen.
Sorry to have bogged you down in Acts. The gist of it was that Peter and John were preaching about the resurrection and doing miracles in the name of Jesus and the authorities arrested and beat them, then they threatened them and told them to stop talking about Jesus, to which they replied, something to the effect, "should we listen to you or should we listen to God? you be the judge"

The point is that Christians have a higher law that can't be compromised when it comes to sharing their faith. Christians are fully aware that they might be killed for their beliefs, if that's the case then so be it. I merely thought it was strange that someone who generally stands up for freedom of thought and speech, would come down so coldly on the side of oppression.

Now, on a much lighter note.
If I were not laughing so hard I might be honored that the name of the new "Kissy Kissy, read any good books lately" thread was lifted directly from one of my posts. X really does have a good sense of humor at times. I can't stop smiling. :))))))) much better than the abortion avenger action squad, don't you think?
