Do you like your new Dell 8100, which was produced at lower cost, lower price to you, and higher margins than its competitors' comparable products? Shouldn't low-cost producers in a commodity market survive, while others fall by the wayside, eventually re-establishing pricing power for the survivor(s)?

If there were no money in commodities, no one would produce commodities. Only the strong (or governmentally subsidized <g>) prosper.

Trading ranges are going to cause me a big tax bill next year, but I'll pay it gladly as it can be even more profitable than buy and hold in a directionless market.

The ira will be up nicely into year end. I hope the trading ranges don't end. These stocks are moving 20-50% in their ranges.

I can take some out of that in between the lows and highs and leave some of the pie for the greedy guys.
