While McD's is to be commended for catching the thieves, in doing so they allowed a contest to continue knowing it was rigged, attracting many players who had no chance of winning. Now, in an apparent "apology" for doing so, they are creating a new contest/lottery which, instead of "returning" the revenue gained under false pretenses in a broad way to all comers via some sort of "discount," will attract those same players to feed the coffers yet again so that one single dumb luck bozo can walk away with all those ill-gotten gains in one $10 mill prize.

That's marketing for ya.
