Tony:

"That was last year. This is this year."
Is INTC in a better position this year? Could have fooled me with planned q2 P4 sales of 4 million vs. actual of 1.6 million...

"Right now, AMD looks like the wounded animal until they prove that Hammer and SOI are a silver bullet, and those are a year away."

AMD's revenues are likely to be flat in y2001 vs. INTC's down a minimum of 20%...Sounds like there's a wounded animal alright, but doesn't sound like it's AMD to me.

"Do you really think customers would start coming around Gateway more if they told them they were dropping the company that invented the microprocessor, and that has 75% of the business, and the intel insideā„¢ campaign?"

With AMD's plethora of Athy awards accumulated over the past 2 years combined with Market Share gain over the past year, it wouldn't surprise me a bit...Although INTC currently holds 75% MS, INTC seems to be operating like a 75 year old athlete compared an AMD, in its prime..."AMD only" is an idea whose time seems to have come...

"Sounds like a drowning man clutching at a straw to me."
Yes it does, but the drowning man may not be the one you think it is!
