Why do you make such a big deal out of menopause,

I don't. I haven't. At the moment I can only recall two posts I have made independently and of my own initiative, mentioning it, though a diligent search with the search engine might turn up one or two others.

And I don't know what the "several" threads you say I posted it on are. I don't post on that many threads, and I don't recall mentioning it on any thread other than this one, but again, I could be wrong.

All the rest has been other people reacting to what I posted and my responding to that. You can't really blame me for that. Or maybe you can, but I don't think it's fair to blame me for posting about M if others post to me about it first. (E has mentioned it nearly as much as I have, or probably more if you you count as a mention each time she keeps posting back to the few original posts where I casually dropped the word into a post), so why aren't you accusing her of making a big deal out of it? Or at least asking her why she's making such a big deal out of my having mentioned it in a very few posts???

that you seem to be unable to drop
I would be perfectly happy to let the whole issue drop now. Here and now. I would have been happy to let it drop right after the first posts and have kept on moving on. If nobody posts anything more to me about it, I won't post anything more about it. It was a passing, momentary spasm, which has IMO been leapt on, mostly by people who mean me no good and look for every little thing they can try to jump all over me for.

I will be quite happy to have you go after all of THEM and ask them why THEY don't just drop it!

BTW, I just did a thread search for the M word. SI came up with 11 posts which included the word. The first mention, on August 2nd, was by Neocon,

as part of a discussion we were having of the abortion issue. He was responding to a post where I did mention menses, but only in the context of whether procreation during menses was possible.

The next mention was by X.

You can check out the rest for yourself.

You'll find that E actually used it BEFORE I did -- I just talked about "hormonal changes" and she ASSUMED I was talking about meopause. But there are lots of other hormonal changes women go through. So SHE'S the one who brought the term into play here, according to this search. E has the next post, too. And the next after that. And the next after THAT. Then YOU have one. Oh, I see I'm going to have to search separately for menopausal, because that's what I used in the post you responded to. I'll do that in a moment. But sticking first with menopause, it appears that I may only have used the word once, and then only referring to my wife going through it, which hardly qualifies, IMO, as making a big deal out of it.

Now let's check out menopausal.

Here, the first use was by E. the second was by me, but only quoting the word back to E.
then me again, but only responding to E, not initiating the use, and just asking "Do you disagree that many menopausal women have emotional mood swings?" which is hardly an offensive use, IMO.
Well, you can look at the rest of the references. But I think you'll find that all or virtually all my uses have been responsive.

Basically, then, I did NOT make a "big deal" out of menopause, but some other people made a big deal out of one or two references to it, and have kept the issue endlessly alive.

Why? I don't know. As them.

But presumbly in E's case because she thinks it's fun, because several times she's said she's just here because she's having fun, and will leave when she stops having fun. So I assume all this focus on M is fun for her.

But you'll have to ask her why yourself, since I have no intention to.
