Taiwan-based Silicon Integrated Systems Corp, a major semiconductor manufacturer, expects that its 735 chipset deliveries will increase
from 100,000 units in July 2001 to over 600,000 units in August. The
expected increase is due to a sharp rise in demand from US-based
Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) Inc. Silicon Integrated Systems' operating revenues are likely to recover to T$800m-T$900m. The company predicts
that 50 per cent of its chipsets delivered in the fourth quarter are to
be for AMD's platforms
, 40 per cent are to be destined for US-based
Intel Corp's Socket 370 processors and 10 per cent for Intel's P4
processors. <end>
