That "isolation" BS is just more demolib pinheadism. It is the duty of the President to emphasize American geopolitical interests.....

Chuck,

I like what that O'Rourke guy has to say. Considering the demands of Europe, reminds me that we have whipped the English twice, and as a fledgling nation, the French once in the French and Indian War, the Spanish once, the Germans twice, along with the Italians, the Russians in a cold war, and many other minor skirmishes. Then we turn around and save Europe's ass twice in world wars. Why should we let them tell us what we should do?? If we had chosen to do so, in 1945, we could have ruled the world, and dictated to them at our whim. They are just lucky we still had some memories of the "old country", and allowed them to keep a modicum of respect.

Undeterred by historical example, however, the EU looks to fulfill the age-old dream of having a country of English cooks, German lovers, French defense forces and Italian efficiency experts.

ROTFLMAO - That's the most succinct and funniest and truest descriptions of the EU Grand Plan I have ever seen. That one sentence by itself is worth a Pulitzer.

Kudo's to P.J.O'Rourke
