I thought it was cute.I am not aware that this group signed anything saying specifically they would not speak about their faith if asked? Are you? No, I'm not aware of anything they signed. But I'd be surprised if they didn't. Regimes like the Taliban don't normally offer visas unless one agrees to whatever they say. I've had to sign such things as a tourist. And the organization probably has some kind of contract. Even if they didn't sign anything, they must have known what was legal and what wasn't, so opening a relief center with the intent to do missionary work would be operating under false pretenses, which is almost as disreputable as violating a formal agreement.I know that Bibles have been smuggled into countries that have not allowed them for years. I wouldn't fault anyone for doing that. I wouldn't fault these folks for proseletyzing. I'm a product of the civil rights movement. I have no issue with civil disobedience. Part of the civil disobedience model, however, is taking your punishment. You get arrested and you go to jail. You don't whine about it. If these folks are prepared to take their punishment gracefully, and take responsibility for all the people who may, in the future suffer and die because regimes have become distrustful of relief organizations, I have less problem with the law breaking. As a self described Libertarian, I am surprised that you don't take the position that all people should be free to decided religious beliefs for themselves, regardless of ethnic or religious heritage, and regardless of what the government says. I do take that position. I think the Taliban sucks. And I hope the people of Afghanistan and its visitors find religious freedom. Karen
