Note to thread- My husband took my son camping in the mountains and his car broke down- so I am off to pick him up. I will be gone for a long time. So have fun while I am gone.

I've done the Rokeach instrument several times. Always, salvation comes out as my lowest terminal value and polite comes out last in my instrumental list. Perhaps polite might come out higher now. I should do it again. I recommend that everyone do the instrument. I found it very informative to have to pit each value up against each other value and make a choice if which was more important to me. But then, I'm naturally introspective so what's interesting to me might not be for others. E might find the instrument wanting. Elimination of human suffering is not on the list. <g> Karen
