Democrats ain't the problem, Snaky. The problem is lack of leadership from the White House. If Bush wants to pass a capital gains tax reduction, then he should have Armey sponsor such legislation next week.

But wait a minute. That ain't gonna happen, is it? The Bush Administration already blew it big time by ramrodding through Congress the $600 tax cut, and now they're having to pay for it by raiding the Social Security-Medicare fund.

But to answer your question, capital gains tax reduction would only have a minimal effect on revitalizing the economy. Businesses aren't expanding like they were when Clinton was in the White House. That's the big factor.

So the Daschlegephardt "plan" for September and October is to continue to attempt to stand in the way of Bush's attempts to increase economic growth-while cheered on by Flapjack and other liberals who stink up this thread.

It hasn't worked for Daschlegephardt so far, and it's going to get worse. What most people don't realize is that DG already knows that. Thus the shot at getting rid of Condit, so his baggage won't make it worse than it's going to be.

Bush has nothing but win/win choices at this point. If the Democrats continue to flog the SS fear propaganda that they have been relying on, he exposes all the garbage that they want to spend the money on. If they try to deal for the pork, he eats their lunch on all the deals, and we see even more tax relief, as well as other policy wins for Bush.

The next two months will be very good ones for those defending the nation against the committed left wing enemy...
