Newbies are writing and asking about the portfolio.

I'll revise the thread introduction, so that everyone knows that the basis is $100K for all portfolios, and that there's no margin (give or take a few bucks) allowed.

For those new to the thread..... sales proceeds are added to cash and then reinvested later. The actual value of the portfolio is "current value" (as shown) plus cash ($). The "total cost" as shown reflects profits plus the original basis (100K). The "% gain/loss" is a figure that is irrelevant and misleading, once there have been sales from the original portfolio. Today's examples..........

portfolio "2001" (shown below) is up 34% YTD and the current value is $134,003.85.

portfolio "2000" is up 336% in 20 months and the current value is $335,969.40...........

I'll occasionally refer to other T/FIF portfolios. They have been left unattended, and some of them do not reflect a bad investment in GLIA that I never went back and added to the portfolios. Some were left unattended with large cash balances. All posts relevant to every thread portfolio are archived in one of the three T/FIF threads. Both "2000" and "2001" (pending the recent ONXX transaction) are accurate as shown.

Disclaimer: there are stocks in all portfolios where I have no active interest. Sometimes I get lazy, sometimes I let stuff reflect the tastes of other contributors. The portfolios are not intended to reflect anything that is being done, real-world.
