SMD,
I am just an amateur who did well with LTBH and am retooling to try to do well regardless of market direction. Not really qualified to answer your Q. I am just trying to share information from others. I heard Jeremy Siegel the stocks for the long run author on the radio a few months ago advocating waiting until the economy clearly shifts before going long. He said you would miss some of the recovery rally but mitigate risk. Both LG and the commodities site are referring to an extremely high risk style of trading, LG calls it "white knuckle".

As I mentioned in the earlier post I have no way of critically evaluating the commodities trader COT site so personally would not feel comfortable making any investing decisions based solely on that site.

While I am no expert in general your approach of being in cash now and reassessing if commercials unwind shorts sounds thoughtful and reasonable. One newsletter I subscribed to (Terry Bedford) believes the market redistributes resources from those who don't think to those who do (LG might add especially if they think like criminals). Hope that is your experience.
