You're very similar to a football fan, rooting for your favorite team, living vicariously, consoling yourself that your humdrum life is more interesting and exciting because you paid for a souvenir. The money you spent went to another investor, not the team. They don't even know you exist. If you wanted to help the team out, you should have sent them a check directly.
