Your thoughts about NMTC pretty much describes Siebel Systems in 1996. While I wouldn't be comfortable coming on so strongly about a company's potential to become a gorilla at that stage, I also wouldn't be as quick to dismiss it based on the criteria you've mentioned.

Who was it that said size doesn't count <gg>?

Seriously, I don't think it's productive to simply dismiss smaller companies off hand. There's nothing wrong with vetting some of the promising ones for possible inclusion in the Watch & Wait Portfolio. I think it would be better to enocurage silverstein and others to present their candidates in GG terms then to cut them off. Even if we never found a diamond among the shiny pebbles, we might find a few new hunters to swell our ranks. I realize that differs from my thinking in 1999, but many things have changed since the days of the Bull.
