It is amazing that the simple idea that money this surplus is just retiring debt. The money and the liquidity it represents is just being removed from the economy. 158 billion in lost opportunity. This as you say in the face of deflation. It goes to show how little Americans understand the economic system that provides their daily bread.

Let me see in the last 100 years deflation was a problem only once and that was during the great depression. Are you saying we are about to have another GREAT DEPRESSION, if so then the monies of SS are needed even more for the folks in the bread lines to come. Just where does your profound logic come from? And if we about to enter a depression what is your great Administration doing to prepare us for it? Of course the poorest get hammered the most in a depression, seems you guys want to make sure they are left hung out to dry!
