Name one Republican President who has ever given us anything but record deficits all in the name of "smaller government". Smaller government but bigger debts? And for that matter name one Republican who has ever given us smaller government. Smaller enforcement of our consumer and environmental laws, smaller clean fuels programs, smaller tax bills for the very rich, smaller help for the needy, but everything else bigger and more wasteful, and all on the national credit card which Clinton, like him or not, paid off.

Mr Bush and co failing to recognize that the economy was heading south cut taxes and raised spending and in just eight short months blew the surplus. Clinton never fudged the numbers but the OMB is being directed to change accounting practices right now to make sure that the fiscally irresponsible Republican Administation doesn't look too bad. The numbers don't lie, how can you be so absurd to blame the problem on the previous admin when this ONE PUSHED Through the tax cut while the economy was tanking!!!!!!!
