Thanks Doug for a good post. I disagree with you on some things in your post. First, let me say the George Bush Sr. was a very good President except that he blew it in Iraq by not finishing the job. I suspect that was the plan to Iran in check, however. As for the demise of the Soviet Union, Reagan had no more influence on that than the weather on Saturn. As early as 1982 their were reports being written about the dire straits of the Soviet economy and without reform it was about to collapse thus it collapsed, Reagan just happened to be Pres when it happened and the military industrial complex and right wing war hawk republicans eagerly gave Reagan all the credit. Preposterous and hogwash.

What bugs me is that the new Admin is searching hard for enemies to start another cold war and the world wide economic interaction which grew during the Clinton years is being contracted back into US isolationism and imperialism now.

You are the first here of your party to give Clinton any credit for anything, that is encouraging.
