BirdDog, I like reading fund managers ... especially those who regulary update their views. It only serves to confirm how much confusion still reigns amongst those who have all that 'sidelined money to invest' - a common reference !.

I just returned from taking the family on vacation - kinda like the Griswalds with Grandpa in tow... I definitely saw some signs of consumer cutbacks. The resort where we stayed for over a week was doing less business than in the last 2 years... and a first class hotel we also stayed at was reasonably quiet too. Conversely, all the restaurants we ate at were still very busy. Perhaps expensive vacations aren't the theme this year .... but day to day activities/spending persist ??.

Regards

Stephen
