I seem to recall that Hitler wasn't "duped" by foreign pacts and treaties either, he broke them whenever it suited his ambitions which was German hegemony.....We are not supposed to be after US hegemony, after all, we're supposed to the good guys, the ones everyone else on the planet wants to emulate.....
