In another article, I read that Alberta, Canada has adopted a more aggressive approach, it is called SuperNet. Of course, this is owned by the government, and will be leased out to businesses, but at least they see the need.

Not that our government has to do it for us, but they have played a major roll in putting on the brakes for our companies. Our government is putting in too many policies and regulations.

In the US private and public endeavors are going on now, funded by defense and universities. It is called internet 2.
