Would you say that the demise of the elevator operator is partially due to the increased cost of labor. Is it a good or bad thing that we do not have elevator operators? Could not some of the mentally handicapped people be hired as operators and be gainfully employed if the wages were lower? This same argument could apply to gas station attendants, movie ushers, street sweepers etc. Where is the flaw in my argument?
