The fact that the Christian message is hated by people such as yourself is hardy new. If Christ, who did nothing wrong, was hated and killed, why should I be surprised to find His followers hated and killed? Whoa, who said anything about hating and killing? I just wish Christians would drop this medieval notion that their belief is better than everyone else's, and that they'd have enough respect for other people's beliefs to keep theirs to themselves and stop pushing them at others. Big difference between "obnoxious" and "hateful". All the Muslims have is a dead prophet who made no prophecies, did no miracles, and who is unable to save. Do you really wonder why people who believe that are not well received in Muslim countries? I would make a good relief worker because I genuinely care about helping people less fortunate than I Caring is a very poor qualification for relief work. People who care a great deal generally go into emotional overload and collapse. Effective relief work is not about caring. It's about efficient management and delivery of very scarce resources under conditions that very few in the western world have the capacity to even imagine. As I mentioned before, some of the most effective relief workers I ever dealt with were from the military, specifically US Marines and Navy personnel. I don't know if they cared or not, but they were quick, efficient, fair, took no bullshit, and didn't mind working 24 hours straight in tropical rainy season conditions surrounded by desperate, traumatized people, sleeping on a poncho in the mud for 2 hours, and getting up and doing it again. Do you want to volunteer?
