Let's not forget corporate welfare. No doubt we'll see more of it the next three years. There are myriad ways to increase profitability via government intervention (going to bat for U.S. banana companies, for instance) or lack of such (not challenging business tax returns that employ "creative" accounting methods.) It's surprising the number of big companies these days that want some kind of help from Uncle Sam to keep their shareholders happy. No doubt those companies that receive the most help from the Bush cabal also are the biggest givers to the GOP and right-wing causes.
