8:44AM Applied Materials (AMAT) 46.89: Banc of America Securities note just mentioned on CNBC was actually issued late Friday (see Friday's 15:31 In Play comment); gist of note is that AMAT won a contract with TXN, which has been an account that has been owned by NVLS in the past; didn't see much reaction in AMAT or NVLS late Friday.

8:36AM Teradyne (TER) 35.05: Hearing from sources that SoundView upgrades to STRONG BUY from Buy with a $55 price target; believes orders have bottomed at the semi test operations and business has stabilized at non-semi test operations.

8:08AM Flextronics (FLEX) 24.20: SG Cowen upgrades to STRONG BUY from Buy; says low cost, full service EMS solution has placed FLEX in an enviable competitive position.

Jim!

Agree with what you're saying and they sure will try and we will see some increases. But i don't think we will be back to the Megawatthour prices of last year as long as there is litigation pending against the energy companies and the State of California still wanting money back from them. Last year they just backed up the truck in broad daylight and loaded it with California dollars to ship to Texas using the open window of a faulty deregulation. The "gaming"/market manipulation will have to be played less obvious this winter.
