obviously they'll say whatever it takes to get people to buy stocks, right?

i mean by amount - length of time wouldn't factor into it - to take a pure cyclical example, i would be more inclined to buy a stock like Ford or Applied Materials (for a long term position) when the P/E is very high (or even negative!) rather than low
