Albert, Re: "is not amd just about to release a new t-bird at 1.5GHz (an increase of 7%) and a4 1.5Ghz within a month (an increase of 25%)?"

That's the rumor, but if AMD has all these wonderful chips at their disposal, why not release them now? They stand to be behind in the performance race as long as they withhold their product.

Albert,

re: It beats AMD's fastest shipping processor
is not amd just about to release a new t-bird at 1.5GHz (an increase of 7%) and a4 1.5Ghz within a month (an increase of 25%)?

You don't understand... even that is sour grapes! Performance, Schfperformance. IPC this, IPC that. The only thing that matters is clock speed! <g>

The sad thing is --> in many ways it's true :-(

Or at least we'll find out whether or not it is true over the months to come.

I think it will be interesting to see how long the $500+ price tag holds up. That is,
1. will it only come down with another speed grade intro?
2. will it be forced down sooner due to poor sales?
3. will it stay up with sales galore?
4. will it stay up with poor sales (i.e. & poor supply)?
