Perhaps, we shall see. But I have to say, this is awfully close to the old Droid soundtrack: no one needs more performance than AMD offers.

Isnt' this precisely what the situation was before the current environment (economy & price war). That is, both Intel & AMD charged a substantial premium for their top-of-the-line chips, regardless of how little the incremental performance increase. For whatever reason: low supply, good demand, finance a price war, because they could, you name it.

Because they could: Can they do it now? I think not. Not for long anyway. Not if they want the P4 to win back market share. But that's just my WAG.

Time will tell.
