(CBS.MW) -- Microsoft Corp. says "security and technical reasons" were behind the company's decision to make the latest versions of Internet Explorer without support for some third-party software, including Apple Computer's QuickTime multimedia player. Critics call this the latest example of the software giant promoting its own technology to the exclusion of others, the Mercury News reported.
