ROFL
I love your little ditty.

I used to think that people who divorced, failed at marriage. Now I am not sure. You fail at staying IN a marriage if you divorce. But if you are a serial monogamist (as so many people seem to be) are you really failing? I don't know. Is it awful for the children? I don't know. I knew a lot of screwed up kids from "in tact" homes when I was a child. Every child on my block routinely was belted by their parents. Things change. Ideas change.

I bet you are a qualified as anyone else to opine on the arts of marriage.

Mr. X and I will celebrate our 20th anniversary on September 1st. But we were just lucky to be well suited. When we married we knew each other very little. He proposed on our 3rd date, and we were married only a few months later. We were young, which I think helped us stay together- it's easier to change when you are young, and to adapt. But is that success at marriage? I don't know. I think our success comes in being happy together. If we stayed together for 20 years in utter misery, I would not count that a success. But then I do not love misery. I supposed if you loved misery, and misery was what you sought out, than 20 years of misery WOULD be a success.

I have rambled.
Oh well.
