and to those who choose a different sort of life.


And I would agree with you, except that if a choice should need to be made between those with children and those without, the with children come first because that's the basic biological imperative of us as a species.

Overpopulation issues aside, the basic function of our animal natures is to reproduce and continue the species. That's hard wired into us, and IMO shouldn't be unhardwired. When society gets too far from that, it winds up paying.

I am sorry to offend. I think that there are legitimate reasons for choosing not to be a parent. However, I think that parenthood should, in most cases, be viewed as preferable.
