The major error that has destroyed Samuelson as an economist for the ages is that he invented the employment versus inflation tradeoff (probably by accident, but it's his baby, nevertheless). He has been as thoroughly debunked as Marx himself... The Laffer "tax wedge" is what drives the economic system today, which is why liberals try to laugh it off instead of dispute the reality it expresses. It is of even more importance now, with the liberals threatening to hang America with a rope fashioned from it's own collective ignorance by fictionalizing about "trust funds" and generating a ruinous deflation. The taxes on capital formation must come down today-and zero is the best target-or the next depression could be right around the corner...
