Yes. I took a home mortgage interest deduction. And I took some capital losses on my Schedule D by shedding some loser stocks before the end of the year. And I filled out an 8283 charitable contributions form. And I filled out an 8863 Hope and Lifetime Learning Credits form.

And I still had to pay Uncle Sam several hundred bucks ... more than Motorola Corporation paid Uncle Sam a few years ago.

Why am I the only one who finds this obscene -- that I'm paying at a 28 percent rate and Big Business often pays zilch, but contributes millions of dollars to the Republican Party?
