Uh oh. Must be proof-positive that Intel is selling Pentium 4 CPUs to Dell for $100. Or it could mean that Dell is getting higher margins on the 1.8GHz model. I'm sure I know the preferable answer for this thread. <g>

I'm confused. Are the Athlon 1.4 and the P4 2.0 that everyone keeps arguing about the same price? It would seem they are since everyone keeps comparing them, but from what I've seen the 1.4 Athlon is quite a bit less expensive.

On Gateway, there seems to be good and bad news. The good news is, a 1400 Select, complete with CDRW, 17" monitor is only $1,099.

The bad news is this is now their ONLY AMD based computer.
