To: carranza2 who wrote (7822 ) 8/27/2001 5:18:06 PM From: Maurice Winn Respond to of 74559 Carranza, I cannot tell a lie, I did in fact deliberately provoke CB in retaliation for some personal comments by giving her some free psychoanalysis and explanation about the way in which western women have swapped vulgar assertiveness for more desirable attributes such thinking, understanding and being ladylike. She confirmed my theory with expletives, vulgarity, ignorant voluble abuse and assertiveness. I didn't know she has a reputation for savaging people, but taming tom-tom beating savages is always fun. To her credit she is still arguing the facts though she can't quite get the gravity of the situation. A real gentleman wouldn't have responded to the denigrations [which I hasten to add is not a racist word - some of my best friends are denigrated; that's another joke CB, like the flying GEOs]. I don't think she can find a lie I've told. I'm aware of only two I've told - one in 1996 and one in 1986. So she is correct that I'm a liar. But she has never seen one so she was guessing. When joining Texaco Canada in 1975, on our training course they explained that salespeople should not lie. They explained that once you lie, you get into a problem because you create a bigger and bigger stack of lies to maintain the illusion. That requires a better memory than people have. Sales people need trust. Good ones do anyway. It turned out I'm a pretty good salesman. A deceit is a trust-breaker. Trust is very valuable. I trust the veracity of Irwin Jacobs and so do many people. I'm not so sure I trust that of Gary Condit, George Bush, Ted Kennedy, and most of those politicians running the show. I trust Alan Green$pan. Usually, trust in abilities and truthfulness go together. It's as though truly capable people don't feel the need to deceive. I suppose that's because there is only a single objective reality and any recognition of anything other than how things actually are is almost always unnecessary. Escaping the power of somebody else, or stealing something are two reasons to lie. The first makes sense - lying to Nazis is fine when they knock on your door and ask, "Do you have any denigrations in your attic?" The second is the usual reason for lying [to deceive to get something involuntarily from somebody else which the liar is not entitled to - even if it is only 'respect']. They wouldn't lie to us that the economy is just fine would they? I wonder where CB found a lie by me. CB? I think she is a liar and can't find a lie. Maybe she means the flying GEOs on wings on silicon was a lie and doesn't understand English - that would be a joke, verbal cartoon, etc. She was obviously misled into thinking I was serious so maybe in her book that's a lie. She called me literal-minded, but boy, talk about the pot calling the kettle black [not that I'm making racial comment you understand - heck, I live in Maori-ville as she calls it and I would NOT want to end up in a cooking pot, whether it's white or black, which again, is NOT a racist comment - heck some of my best friends are racists]. Mqurice PS: On morons: Happy little moron Sitting in the sun. Doesn't know he's moron! [My god, p'raps I'm one].
