This all goes back to Intels superior ability to lead the benchmarking standards around like a bull with a bull ring in it's nose.
Remember MMX? Still ain't a lot of software for that...and at the time..Intel used it as a great marketing tool.
This SSE2 stuff appears like a few small tangents...but Intel wants you to think that it works on the installed software base. And, I don't encode movies...

I'll take the processor with the raw processing power, not the one with the "tricks"...thank you...
