You mean we could see a repeat of the 1966-1982 secular bear? I think that is a distinct possibility. Warren Buffett expressed the view that the market could produce returns of 4% to 6% over the next 17 years from 2000 onwards. He could be right.

Btw, for those JDSU investors that don't know who's Warren Buffett -- well, he is a guy who knows a thing or two more about investing than you! :-)
