Dear Maui:

You have fallen for the Intel trap hook, line and sinker. You must use GAAP earnings to compare between two different companies. By that rule AMD has a PE of 60 for estimated FY2001 earnings but, Intel has a PE of 290 for the same period. Intel's are far higher than AMD for a comparison that usually favors lower scores. If Intel was valued at 60 times GAAP FY2001 earnings, the stock would be just $6.00 a share.

Pete

Maui,

Stocks trade on their future prospects, not their past earnings.
