>> The signs were there for us to see, if we knew how.

Considering the staggering percentage of growth oriented investors, including fund managers and venture capitalists, that didn't recognize those signs, I'm inclined to believe that they can only be seen in the rear view mirror. That's why I suggest dollar cost averaging for younger investors as a sensible approach.

Remember that my comments regarded "accumulating the stocks of great companies". I don't put jdsu in that category, but that's jmho.

Five years from now, today's
prices will be viewed as once in a lifetime opportunities, but only for those
companies that survive the bear.

An exit strategy is essentiall, LTB&H is non-sense. It seems like a great idea to baby boomers cause its worked since 1974. It doesnt always work and portfolio rotation is essential as well. I am sure XEROX and Digital and Zenith shareholders didnt do so well with buy and hold.

RP - On the weekends we have quite a bit of OT posting. But durring the week we stick to QCOM issues and that is why this thread has remained so consistently good.

Everyone has a right to do as he pleases of course but I would ask you to follow the above unwritten rule if you value the QCOM information.

I like your post on bottoms and I would reccomend you to the Clown Free thread which discusses these matters every day and has some really intersting posts on those issues.

Thank you,

L
