I think that there may come a time when jdsu rises that much in a 3-4 year time frame. I do not know where it will start from though or when.

I expect jdsu will not only survive, but thrive. In the meantime, I expect it to trade in a base until conditions improve (or there is some institutional sponsership like the semis get).

It would help if someone in the FO sector said something to the effect of seeing a bottoming fundamentally. But instead it's gotten juniper and ciena to now be cautious.

I've got my eye on jdsu. It's on my buy list and I think shorting it now is silly.

Best regards

Probably not long. Most people don't realize that you are doing very well to get an average return over the long term of 12-15%. The last 5 years have given many people the delusion that they were expert investors who could routinely time the market for 200%+ returns per year. I think they are finding out now that money doesn't grow on trees and that if you want to gamble, go to Vegas and you have as much chance to make it big as by gambling on Wall Street. The days of easy money are gone and may take another 10-20 years or more before we see another bubble.
