I guess it would depend on if they can do it. Xeons are kept at lower speeds to allow for better yields on the large caches. My last post was based on Intel having an oversupply problem due to all the new manufacturing coming online next year (something that several people have - falsely in my opinion - theorized). In the case of a manufacturing abundance, you can afford to have lower yields on various products to push them to the limits. I was just having fun with a "what if..." scenario. ;)
